Plunge For A Purpose

This past weekend, Whitney joined hundreds of Chicagoans on the shores of Lake Michigan for the Polar Plunge benefiting Special Olympics Illinois. What began as a personal challenge quickly became something much bigger, a reminder of how powerful community can be when it rallies around a shared cause.

The Polar Plunge raises critical funds for Special Children’s Charities and Special Olympics Illinois, supporting year-round athletic programs, inclusive opportunities, and resources for athletes with intellectual and developmental disabilities across Chicago. Every registration, every donation, and every icy step into the water directly fuels programs that champion confidence, connection, and courage.

Whitney was even captured by NBC Chicago during the plunge, a fun moment in the midst of freezing temps, but the real highlight was witnessing the joy and determination of the athletes and families the event serves. The cold may have lasted a few minutes, but the impact of the day reaches far beyond it.

For Whitney, it was more than a plunge it was a reminder that when we show up, even in discomfort, we help build something bigger than ourselves.
