Holiday Reset and Refresh
The start of a new year gives me a moment to prepare for what’s ahead. My work asks me to sit with stories that are emotional, layered, and often heavy, and I take that responsibility seriously. Stepping into a new year, and a new season, requires clarity, strength, and the ability to stay grounded. The new year provides with me with time to prepare for what’s ahead by creating space to be ready to serve others and their stories well.
Time with my husband our twins at our family’s lake house in Michigan, going skiing, and heading on a cruise to the Bahama’s with a major shift in weather, gave me that space. It allowed me to reflect on where I’ve been and where this work is going. This year also marks five years since The Whitney Reynolds Show reached a national audience on PBS, something I was once told simply didn’t happen. Every step since has reinforced that this show was never about recognition. It has always been about making room for honest conversations and stories that matter.
I’ve learned that leadership does not have to be loud to be effective. For me, it looks like showing up with care, steadiness, and a grounded presence. My faith continues to be a source of strength and guidance, especially as I move into the new year and a new season of the show.
Being a mom shapes how I prepare in ways nothing else can. Time with my kids pulls me out of the noise and brings me back to what is real and essential. In those everyday moments, I’m reminded that values are lived, not explained. That grounding helps me move forward into the new year with clarity and patience.
As we prepare for the next season of the Whitney Reynolds Show, premiering April 13, I am approaching this year with focus rather than urgency. Preparation does not always require big gestures. Sometimes it simply means choosing to begin again. The mission remains the same: to continue building a space rooted in care, honesty, and hope.
