All In for the Playoffs
Whitney recently sat down with Chicago Fire FC’s Justin Reynolds — and the passion was undeniable. A proud Chicagoan through and through, Justin shared what it means to wear his hometown across his chest, and how this season has been about more than soccer.
That heart showed up in a big way. In a thrilling 5–3 victory over Inter Miami on September 30, 2025, Justin scored his first goal for his hometown club — helping secure the Fire’s first playoff berth since 2017 in the 2025 MLS Cup Playoffs. It was a defining moment not only for him, but for a team that has fought tirelessly to bring postseason soccer back to Chicago.
The best part? The Fire wants the whole city to share in the excitement. As part of their playoff push, they offered fans a free month of MLS Season Pass, making it easier than ever for Chicagoans to be part of every exhilarating moment on and off the field.
But this story goes far beyond the scoreboard. Through the Chicago Fire Foundation’s P.L.A.Y.S. (Participate, Learn, Achieve, Youth, Soccer) program, kids across the city are learning lessons that last far beyond the game — teamwork, confidence, and the power of perseverance. On the field they learn to pass and score; in the classroom, they learn to lead.
For Whitney, that’s what makes this story special. It’s not just about a team heading back to the playoffs — it’s about a city rallying behind one of its own. Justin’s journey is a reminder that when heart meets opportunity, incredible things happen.
So, as the Fire gear up for the postseason, one thing is clear: Chicago’s got their back — and they’ve got Chicago’s heart.
