Style, Service, and Community

Behind every elegant luncheon, every designer look, and every perfectly styled detail is something even more important: purpose. As both a member of The Service Club of Chicago and a media model in Day on the Terrace, I've had the unique privilege of experiencing one of Chicago's most beloved summer traditions from more than one perspective. What continues to inspire me year after year is how an afternoon centered around fashion creates a lasting impact on so many lives throughout our community. That's why I'm excited to see Day on the Terrace return to The Peninsula Chicago on August 10, 2026, with this year's elegant theme, Wrapped in Fashion.

While the afternoon is known for its elegance, fashion, and timeless Chicago charm, what keeps me coming back is the impact behind the event. Hosted by The Service Club of Chicago, Day on the Terrace is much more than a luncheon. It’s an opportunity for our community to come together and support organizations that are making a real difference in the lives of children, families, veterans, seniors, individuals with special needs, and nonprofits throughout Chicagoland.

What makes this event so meaningful is the mission behind it. The Service Club of Chicago creates opportunities for nonprofit organizations to receive grants that help bring their work to life, whether that's funding a vehicle to transport goods to food pantries, providing lighting equipment to create educational videos, or supplying other tangible resources that allow organizations to better serve those in need. Every dollar raised helps turn ideas into action and strengthens the impact these nonprofits have throughout our community.

This year’s theme celebrates the beauty of bows, ribbons, and couture-inspired style, bringing together fashion and philanthropy in a way that feels both meaningful and memorable. Guests can look forward to a stunning runway presentation featuring premier fashion retailers and designers, an elegant luncheon experience, and thoughtful touches that reflect the spirit of wrapped elegance.

The afternoon will also honor Wendy Krimins and Tina Koegel of Neiman Marcus for their contributions to fashion, community leadership, and charitable service. Recognizing individuals who use their influence to give back is always a highlight of events like these.

For nearly 135 years, The Service Club of Chicago has remained committed to improving lives through charitable giving. Their work extends far beyond a single event, providing grants to nonprofit organizations that support social services, healthcare, education, and cultural programs across our city. Every ticket purchased and every sponsorship secured helps further their mission.

What I love most about Day on the Terrace is that it reminds us that fashion can be more than what we wear; it can be a vehicle for generosity, connection, and positive change. It’s a celebration of friendship, community, and the belief that when people come together with purpose, incredible things happen.

As Chicago’s philanthropic community gathers once again at The Peninsula this August, I’m looking forward to another afternoon filled with style, inspiration, and impact. Events like these prove that giving back never goes out of fashion.

I hope to see you there.
